Originally hailing from Augusta, Georgia, Turf War started as a solo gig in lead singer John Robinson’s bedroom. With the quick addition of several more members, the outfit morphed into a full-fledged band; a later move to Atlanta turned things even more serious. After a slew of live dates including a jaunt to SxSW and a completed album to their name, the band signed to Old Flame Records.

Garnering interest in their local scene, word came to fellow Atlanta rocker Ian St Pé of the Black Lips, who gave an assist by producing the band’s debut full length. Entitled Years of Living Dangerously, the album saw release less than two weeks ago. The band’s sound has a grimy, southern feel to their catchy garage rock. With Creedence named as a big influence, it’s clear what they’re going for.
The band is sticking close to home for dates in the upcoming weeks, so get your fill by grabbing “Cheers To The Years” and checking the links below.
