The Submarines‘ Honeysuckle Weeks was released nearly two years ago, but it retains an air of timelessness through the magic that is the Apple marketing department who have used two of their tracks from that album in their ubiquitous iCommericals. Both “You, Me and the Bourgeoisie” and “Submarine Symphonika” were used in iPhone commercials (for the 3G and 3GS, respectively.)
The Wallpaper remix of “Submarine Symphonica” finds the track realigned from standard indie pop to something with more of a disco feel to it. And the result is uplifting, despite the fact that the title of the song breaks the rule that a band shouldn’t use the same word in a song title that it does in its moniker. (See Atari Teenage Riot for the most egregious abuse of that particular rule.) Check the track out below, along with another Wallpaper joint I’ve been digging for a while now.
