The Polyphonic Spree – Light & Day/Reach For the Sun

Thebeginningstagesofcover The Polyphonic Spree Light & Day/Reach For the SunYesterday was one of the nicer days in Rochester in months.  The winter so far hasn’t been overly bad; there have been a couple of larger storms, but nothing like they have received along the coast.  Overall we’ve had a lot of snow, but not in a single storm.  Granted, that could change at any moment, so when it is nice outside, it’s good to take advantage.

This is the only song I have from The Polyphonic Spree.  I remember standing in Record Archive with their first album in my hand, debating whether or not I should get it.  It seemed like their unbridled optimism might be too much to take for 45 minutes straight, so I opted against it.  I haven’t heard anything else from them that has made me regret not purchasing the album, so it was probably a good decision.

Tying these two disparate stories together: I thought of this song yesterday with the weather as nice as it was, since it seems to complement the impending spring.  Today it’s not as nice around Rochester, but maybe it’s nicer where you are.  Pitchers and catchers have already reported to Spring Training sites; warmer weather is on the way.  And that’s something everyone can look forward to.
