The Pains of Being Pure At Heart

I’m pretty excited about all of the bands we’ll be seeing this Friday evening including Surfer Blood, Hooray For Earth and The Pains of Being Pure At Heart. I’ve never seen any of them live but enjoy each on their own merit. We’ve mentioned POBPAH multiple times here so I have nothing new to add. In case you haven’t seen the John Hughes-esque video or heard the associated song from their 2009 EP of the same name, here is a warm-up for the show Friday night. If you are in Rochester and are attending the show, we hope to see you there and possibly meet some of the few who may regularly read this site.

I'm there with bells on… I can't remember a previous time that I had such a high level of interest for all three bands on a bill.

Oh, and thanks for running the ticket contest, they are going to good use. I'll shoot a tweet to @tympanogram at the show, maybe we can meet up over a Newcastle Brown…

…or Cream Ale. The German House beer selection is a bit eclectic.

Basically, it sounded like a cool name for a blog intended to be primarily about music. We’d both had other blogs previously, but over beers it was decided that more damage could be done as a joint venture. And here we are.

We share a passion for the undiscovered and under-appreciated, and hope that you’ll be able to find something you love as well.
