I am always keen to locate b-sides because oftentimes I am curious what a band’s decision making process entails when there are extras that must be left off of records. I generally find that I enjoy b-sides – perhaps because of their limited nature – but not having been the author I can only respect the artists choice to leave certain tracks out. I can understand why The Morning Benders avoided including “Go Grab A Stranger” on Big Echo; it’s a more sinister, jaunty track that initially sounds as if it would have been out of place amongst the sprawling sounds of the a-siders, and then it transforms and moves into something I could easily see placed amongst the original ten. But then again I don’t put albums together so what do I know?
