There’s always going to be room in the musical canon for women with interesting, smoky voices. You know the type: they’re the ones that fill in the corners of rooms effortlessly, the ones that bring a sort of unearthly quality to their singing.
I’d imagine that, if I were to be haunted, the sound would be something like Hannah, the lead singer of London Grammar. Their Facebook page claims they’ve been around for over two years at this point, but it seems like right-fucking-now is the first time anyone in the blog world has sniffed them out.
But who cares, when you’ve arrived bearing these gloriously realized, perfectly seasonal gems? Have a whack at “Hey Now” and try and tell me you don’t see some sort of angel or god in between the vibrato.
