Almost a month ago we talked about London’s Bear Driver when they released the A-side to their new single, “Never Never,” calling it “…sun-addled, half-tipsy…” If the A-side was half-tipsy, then the AA-side to the single, entitled “Let The Cold,” is full on drunk. Where “Never Never” meandered, “Let The Cold” – which we’re fortunate to be able to stream exclusively here – picks up the pace.
There’s a sort of youthful innocence to Bear Driver’s music; it reminds me of the mid-90’s slacker rock that I used to love (and still do, but don’t put on as much anymore.) It’s got an air of sloppiness about it, and that’s part of its allure. “Let The Cold” is perfect for the nights when there’s nothing to do but anything could happen, and it’s a track that puts the band’s promise on full display.
“Let The Cold” will be released on January 2nd through Adventure Club as a 7″ single with the aforementioned “Never Never” on the other side. The single precedes the band’s as-of-yet untitled, debut full length album, which will be released in the spring of next year.
