I’m taking a week off from my normal 1000 Minutes post, because I’m not particularly enamored of working at it after a tiring weekend; instead, you’re going to get a steady output of new music that I’ve been enjoying over the past week. First up, Chicago band Skybox:
We got an e-mail about The Hood Internet remix of this track, but when I took a listen, I found the original far more compelling. That’s not to say that The Hood Internet remix isn’t good, but it doesn’t seem to do a whole hell of a lot with the song. There’s some additional bass and quirks mixed in, but the dreamy pop of the original has enough flare to stand on its own, and does it well.
Skybox is out touring the US starting in June; you can check out their dozen-or-so dates on their site, which includes a date in Rochester, but not the one in New York, which is disappointing. They also have a post up explaining their thoughts on filesharing; we haven’t downloaded their album, but we’ll do our best to promote it here. Share it with your friends too.
