I’ve said it before, and, as nothing has come along yet to prove otherwise, I maintain my position: Wolf Parade is the perfect combination of talents for those involved. Not unlike the power of Captain Planet, with the forces of the parties involved combined, they are all powerful. On their own, Spencer Krug, Dante DeCaro, Arlen Thompson, and in the case of Handsome Furs, Dan Boeckner, all have their talents but tend to produce materials lacking when in comparison to their efforts as a wolf pack.

“Repatriated” is a recent cut from the band’s forthcoming record due out later this month, and they’re slated to play this Saturday at The Garrison for NxNE. Were it Wolf Parade playing, I would say I would be there for certain. As it is, our attention is going to be split all over the greater Toronto area on Saturday night so I’m not certain we’ll make it to their show. But that’s a good problem to have.
