New Releases: March 9

New Releases: March 9We’re going to have a more thorough, self-congratulatory post about it this afternoon, but our birthday show this past Saturday was excellent. All the bands were incredibly accommodating, and all their sets were passionate and fun; we are grateful for their help, their willingness to play, and for their hard work. We met a lot of fantastic people, drank a lot of beer and heard a lot of great music; we hope we can do it again soon.

As for New Releases, this is a big week. There are eight albums on this list that are in my personal “must buy” category, and a lot of Jimi Hendrix re-releases. So, find yourself something this week. There are a couple of tracks after the list like always. Have yourselves an excellent week.

Yeah, this is one of those weeks where I will spend way too much money on music. I'm in for The Besnard Lakes, Frightened Rabbit, Gorillaz, Liars and I have had the Ted Leo for almost a week now due to Matador breaking their own street date. It is definitely a return to form for Leo and I'm really digging it.

I also already ordered and received the Pavement vinyl reissues that were scheduled for today. They sound and look great. This year's vinyl releases seem to indicate that the manufacturing problems are decreasing as the pressing houses continue to get more experience making records again. Either that or I have been really lucky with my purchases.

OK, off to Lakshore to spend more money on music…
