This is kind of a slow week for New Releases – at least in terms of what I’d actually buy; it will give me a chance to catch up on the albums I’ve put off until later from earlier in the year. If I had to pick, I have mild interest in the Clem Snide and Shout Out Louds albums, and possibly the Joanna Newsom album. I bought the Shearwater album last week when it was released on Amie Street.
As always, there are a couple of reminder tracks after the list, just to jog your memory. I hope everyone has a great week; if you’re thinking about going to see Shutter Island, I give it a B-, which is neither here nor there, and wholly non-influential either way, since we don’t often give movie advice.

Just Shearwater for me this week. I preordered the LP from Matador, so it will show up sometime in the next few weeks. I'll probably check out the Xiu Xiu record on Lala, but I've never gone to the point of buying one of their records, doubt I'll start now.
Slow week? apparently you failed to notice that Andrew W.K.s neglected masterpiece “Close Calls with Brick Walls” is finally seeing its long awaited US release. A slow week you say? for shame.
Actually, we did notice. That's why it's listed there as a New Release.
