Certain critics seem to loathe this band and revile their album, while listeners seem to love them. I’ve seen this track atop the popular list on multiple occasions at Hype. Where is this dissonance coming from?
Personally I’ve long enjoyed the song, but felt much more moved by the video. A rougher, more emotional performance is conveyed in the video than comes across in the song itself. There is a sense of urgency that adds depth that wasn’t recognizable prior. We haven’t posted the song on the blog to this point despite its release quite some time ago, so apparently neither Andy nor I really love the song. I certainly enjoy it enough, though I’ve enjoyed it a bit more since I saw the video.
