[mp3/video] Baths – Lovely Bloodflow

baths 6 [mp3/video] Baths Lovely Bloodflow

There’s been a buzz surrounding Los Angeles based Baths for a while now; we’ve been getting emails about Will Wiesenfeld – the sole proprietor of Baths – for some time now, but have never got around to posting anything about the project.  And now, with the release of the video for “Lovely Bloodflow,” it seems like a good time to talk about it.

“Lovely Bloodflow” is pretty representative of the sound on Baths’ debut album Cerulean – falsetto vocals over top of looping, pensive beats awash in various quirks and noises culled from the hum of everyday life.  It’s gorgeous stuff, and the video that now accompanies the track is equally as compelling.  The video recreates the end of a samurai’s life after a battle, and the visual process of the man’s soul leaving his body.

Baths is out of an extensive tour through the end of November that started yesterday in his native California (which will also find him in Rochester on September 19th at the Bug Jar with El Ten Eleven and Dosh.)  Head over to his MySpace to check out those dates.  Watch the video for “Lovely Bloodflow” below, and grab the mp3 of the song after that.
