Denmark’s five-piece, The Kissaway Trail author a brand of earnest indie pop that, despite one’s personal musical leanings, is difficult to dislike (unless you write for Pitchfork that is). While it’s nothing new, “SDP” is a track I only recently came across. The band formed in 2005, and has been around since despite a few instances of near collapse. Sleep Mountain is the first album to see release in the U.S., but it is in fact the band’s sophomore LP; a self titled affair preceding it with release in Europe in 2007. On that effort is another standout track entitled “61,” which you can listen to on the band’s MySpace page, which is linked below. The band has toured in support of disparate acts such as Editors, The Boxer Rebellion, The Temper Trap, and Ra Ra Riot. Currently the quintet have a number of dates in and around their native land, both this month and most of next.
