This week’s new releases are only mildly interesting to my tastes. In years past I would likely be far more jazzed than I currently am regarding the new Idlewild record, though there are differing reports on when that will actually be available. I left out another album in last week’s list in No Age’s latest, so I’m consulting two lists now to fact check. Unfortunately there are still discrepancies. According to Amazon the new Idlewild comes out a week from today, so I will be including it on that list. I will be purchasing it at that time, but without the zeal my former self may have exhibited.
I don’t have much interest in the collaboration between Joseph Arthur, Ben Harper, and George Harrison’s son Dhani that is being released under the name Fistful of Mercy. There’s also the Parenthood soundtrack, featuring the likes of Wilco, The Avett Brothers, and Ray LaMontagne, amongst others. Besides that, because of local flavors I’m betting we’ll be at least hearing the new Guster at some point. And, I’ll likely be taking a dump on the new Toby Keith. As always, grab a few tracks below.
The Avett Brothers – Live, Volume 3
Clinic – Bubblegum
Faith Evans – Something About Faith
Finger Eleven – Life Turns Electric
Fistful of Mercy – As I Call You Down
Donavon Frankenreiter – Glow
Guster – Easy Wonderful
Bruno Mars – Doo-Wops & Hooligans
Tricky – Mixed Race
KT Tunstall – Tiger Suit
Guster – Bad Bad World (mp3) from Easy Wonderful
Tricky – Early Bird (mp3) from Mixed Race
