Andy recently wrote about Painted Palms and their track “All Of Us,” and since that time I’ve been noticing their name quite often. I first learned of them back in November and drafted something up, though I deleted the post after it sat in our drafts box for over a month. I actually drafted another post again in January, but delayed in finishing it up once again for what ever reason. Ultimately Andy jumped on the track, only in his case he finished something up. Since then I’ve seen the band’s name in multiple places, one such instance being the remix E.P. from Yeasayer.

One other place I’d seen the name was on this track we’re sharing today. Following my purchase of the Mighty EP on vinyl, I received a set of four Lord Huron remixes. If you’ve been paying attention, you’ll know Lord Huron have been blowing my mind since early on in this year. The remix certainly maintains elements of the original, but instead it more closely resembles that which you would come to expect from Painted Palms; tropical tones abound, it samples the vocals and sounds like a close sibling to “All Of Us.” Which ever way you slice it, it’s worth a listen.
