[mp3] Cloud Nothings: “I Apologize”

Just in the past few months, Cleveland teenage Dylan Baldi has grown exponentially in stature in the music world. He has a debut LP coming out early in 2011 that is getting media coverage on the musical big-wig sites. He has already released an album of the songs he wrote in his parent’s basement under the name Cloud Nothings, entitled Turning On, that has been seen with a few different identities. I’ve adored everything I’ve heard yet, so my attention was caught when I received an email from Kevin Greenspon, proprietor and artist of Bridgetown Records, talking up a split between Cloud Nothings and himself with each contributing five tracks. Bridgetown is where Baldi first got notice with the first incarnation of Turning On, this time with eight tracks. Another version, this time with an extra cut, was released on vinyl via Speakertree Records. He is quite the prolific song-writer, since in addition to his impending LP, he released a fleshed out version of Turning On [mp3] Cloud Nothings: I Apologize with another five tracks last month, plus an EP entitled Leave You Forever [mp3] Cloud Nothings: I Apologize. I’m sure there is some overlap here and there with all of these releases, (the split includes only exclusive tracks) but this is impressive output considering the quality of it all.

So, from the split on Bridgetown, here is “I Apologize;”  a poppy-er entry than some, yet still fuzzy with a strong hook and melodic vocals.
