If you were around Rochester on September 22nd and didn’t come to see The Static Jacks play at Lovin’ Cup, you missed a hell of a show. The New Jersey outfit played their entire debut album – If You’re Young – from front to back. The band said they’d never done it to that point, and they didn’t know if they would ever do it again. The band is off the road for the time being, gearing up for their upcoming tour with The Wombats that starts at the end of the month.
“Into The Sun” is the third track on that debut album, and it’s an energetic track, and one that’s nearly impossible to not sing along with (if you’ve yet to hear it). We got our hands on it just before CMJ last year and wore it out with loud, repeated listens. Earlier this week the band sent around an RAC Maury Mix of the track, and it adds a level of looping synth to the track that you wouldn’t otherwise find The Static Jacks exuding. It might even make someone dance, dropping out the hard-charging guitars, leaving Ian’s distinctive rasp, and backing it up instead with drum machines.
It’s a sensational remix of a track that was special without it.
