[mp3] Mac DeMarco // I’m A Man

macdemarco [mp3] Mac DeMarco // Im A Man

We talked about Mac DeMarco’s previous single, “Baby’s Wearin’ Blue Jeans” last month sometime, noting that DeMarco’s previous work had been with the band Makeout Videotape. Honestly, between that track and this one, his new single called “I’m A Man,” it doesn’t even sound like the same singer.

“I’m A Man” is from the forthcoming Rock and Roll Night Club, which is due out on March 20th through the folks at Captured Tracks. Between the song’s odd definition of what constitutes being a man, and the cover art that’s been floating around for the eventual release of DeMarco putting on lipstick, it seems like the Canadian is still up to his old tricks – not taking anything overly seriously, least of all his music. And that’s the same singer that I remember seeing last summer.

Rock and Roll Night Club is on the Captured Tracks website, but it’s not available for pre-order at this point. I’d imagine that will be coming soon. Until it does, there are a couple additional tracks available for streaming over at DeMarco’s Bandcamp page.
