[mp3] King Charles // Love Lust

kingcharles [mp3] King Charles // Love Lust

This past Saturday evening, not in the mood to cook, my wife and I decided to get some takeout for dinner. We live in an area not particularly close to any restaurants, so it requires a bit of a drive to get places. I was assigned the job of driving to retrieve the food while my wife was assigned the job of keeping our two small children alive at home, as is often her thankless task. I took this alone-time opportunity to listen to some music I hadn’t listened to in a while when on came a forgotten song from 2010. I located the song at some unnamed blog I’m fretful I’m not able to give credit to since I’m unable to recall exactly where I attained it.

The song, King Charles’ “Love Lust,” is one I’m surprised I haven’t written about before now. The band couples some clever wordplay and interesting lyrics with engaging instrumentals to take what could have been a stock love song and make it something altogether more intriguing. Check out their MySpace page for some more tracks, which I assume will be for better or worse in many opinions, includes an updated take on a Billy Joel cover.
