If you’ve been paying attention to what we do around here (and who could blame you if you didn’t?), you’ll remember that we brought Hosannas here to Rochester for a show when we brought Young Empires to town back in October. I suppose we didn’t really “bring” them here as much as it worked out that they could play the show. The Portland, Oregon based duo plays an ethereal, harmonious brand of shoegazing pop, each turning different knobs, playing alternate synths, working off of each other.
I saw this on No Modest Bear first, and since I have no idea what it said about the song, I don’t know what this new song is for, where it’s going to end up. But it’s a nice, slow burner to get a long week ahead started. If you head to the band’s website, you can grab other songs from their previous efforts, as well as an entire EP for nothing more than free. The band also has an extensive tour set up for west of the Mississippi, including a couple of dates at SXSW.
