I went back to look at what I had previously written about Deleted Scenes, only to find that I never put anything up about them. I know I had them on my list of bands to talk about, but that obviously never came to fruition. That happens to me sometimes; certain songs/artists will fall by the wayside if I don’t give them a proper write up in a week or so. Washington, DC’s Deleted Scenes must have fallen into that strange purgatory.
The band sent around the first single, “Bedbedbedbedbed” from their sophomore album, Young People’s Church of the Air, back in July, when they were getting ready to release it as a 12″ single, and it’s an indie slow jam that floated around my bedroom and summer for a while. And now the band has released a second single from their album, this one a bit more jumpy than its predecessor, hence the title “The Days of Adderall.” It’s worked its way into my head, and makes me think I should be giving the full album a listen rather than relying on the singles to do the heavy lifting.
Deleted Scenes are headed out on tour with Jukebox the Ghost and The Spinto Band in the near future, with a run of dates to start off the New Year. Head to their Facebook page to see if they’ll be around your area, and pick up a copy of Young People’s Church of the Air through Sockets Records.
