Carrousel hail from Tallahassee, Florida, and their music was sent to us with the label of ‘dream-pop/folk.’ I’d say it tends more to the folk end than the dream-pop end – at least based on “Darling, You’re So Mean To Me,” the song which has its hooks in me of late. It wheezes to life with harmonica and hand-claps after kind of screwing around for the song’s first twelve seconds or so, and then builds into a sing-along chorus. If you’re fond of Dr. Dog, Carrousel should be right up your alley.
The band’s new, three song EP, titled Darling, was released on November 15th, and is available to all who want it for free at their Bandcamp page, and they don’t even ask for an email address to get it. It requires no commitment on your part, so you should probably head there and grab it. You’ll need something new to listen to on your way to grandmother’s house tomorrow.
