I have to be honest about this one. I heard this song in the most unlikely of places: the credits of the movie The Switch. I don’t know what might be more surprising – that I made it to the end of The Switch or that the movie actually used decent music as a soundtrack, but regardless, it led me to Bibio’s 2009 album Ambivalence Avenue. (And the truth is that I will watch most anything that Jason Bateman stars in. It’s almost like I owe him big for Michael Bluth.)
Bibio, if you are unaware like I was, is a British producer who releases his own music as well. As it turns out, his new album, Mind Bokeh, will be released this coming Tuesday in the US and the week after in the UK. This track sounds like it could have been a Cat Stevens lied from the 1960′s; it starts off as an instrumental before giving way to a breezy love story. It’s nearly impossible to not like this song. Try it out. As for The Switch, it wasn’t as good as this song, but if you need about an hour and 45 minutes killed, it’s not a horrible way to spend it.
