Once again with this edition of my 1000 Minutes I struggled with when to post songs that I know will eventually become a part of the finished project. It shouldn’t really matter at this point because I’m not struggling to find the songs, my struggle is only when to put them in. This would qualify as a good problem I suppose.
On another very important note, tomorrow is Record Store Day. Take a look at the site to see any local record stores near you and anything special they may have going on. Support your local record stores and buy some vinyl or cd’s. I’ll be making a trip myself.
On to the music.
17. Fleet Foxes – She Got Dressed (mp3) (3:29) from the Fleet Foxes EP [Time Remaining: 930:41]
This song is off the band’s first recording before they signed to Sub Pop. I like it when Robin Pecknold and co. up the pace in songs like this. Sure, I like pretty much everything from them, but this and Quiet Houses are my two favorites by the band.
Since Andy listed his favorite off this record I decided to put my favorite up as well for this edition. Logic Will Break Your Heart will eventually be listed on our essential albums list when either myself (most likely) or Andy gets around to it, that is if he were so inclined at said juncture. I would certainly list it as essential due to the immense level of enjoyment I received from this record. It is likely that I regard the band’s subsequent efforts in higher esteem than Andy, but do also wish the band could recreate the overall feel of this record.
